"Gospel-country singer Debbie Cochran was honored at the 2020 Josie Music Awards for Vocalist of the Year (Christian/Gospel) on September 5.
The Josie Music Awards are known for recognizing independent artists, songwriters, record labels, talent agencies, promotion companies, producers, engineers, management companies, press, music industry businesses, and more. Nominee suggestions must go through a lengthy review process conducted by a team of industry leaders to even be considered for the official list of nominations. Cochran has been nominated in the past for categories including Song of the Year.
"I feel so honored and blessed...a personal thank you to Josie Passantino-Boone, Tina Passantino and staff for making a difference in the careers of indie artists," Cochran said. "I feel so blessed to have also been nominated for Gospel Song of the Year (In A Heartbeat) and Video of the Year (Lord Did I Miss the Rapture)."
The Josie Music Awards was created solely to celebrate those in the independent music industry who work hard every day and deserve to have a night of their own. After the success of her song "Born Again Wildflower" with Dolly Parton, Cochran is eager to release new music.
"I'm looking forward to being back in the studio recording my next gospel album and my first Christmas album," Cochran said. "My music journey has been a humbling experience. I feel so blessed to share the journey with my wonderful husband, Elmer, and all my friends and fans. Every moment is building my dream along the way. God Bless!""
